How To Prepare For Your
Upcoming PEI Wedding

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
Planning and preparing for such a special day can be both exciting and overwhelming. To help you navigate this process smoothly, here are some essential tips:

#1 Finalize All Vendor Details

Confirm all the arrangements and details with your vendors, including your wedding photographer. All things to review would be the timeline, menus, floral arrangements, and any special requests for vendors before your wedding day.

#2 Create A Detailed Wedding Day Timeline

Talk with your important family members, wedding party, coordinator, and wedding photographer to create a comprehensive timeline for the entire wedding day. Don't hesitate to include specific details & times for key events, such as the ceremony. However, remember to add in "buffer" time. Things may run behind and that is completely okay, especially if you planned for it.

#3 Schedule A Final Dress Fitting

Visit your seamstress or tailor for the final fittings of all your wedding attire. Make sure everything fits perfectly and arrange for any necessary alterations with time to spare.

#4 Confirm RSVPs

Reach out to guests who may have not responded to your invitations and confirm the final headcount with your caterer and venue. This will help you plan seating arrangements and finalize catering requirements.

#5 Organize Your Marriage License

Check the requirements for obtaining a marriage license in your province. Be sure to locate all necessary I.D.,  complete any necessary paperwork, and make arrangements to obtain the license before the wedding day.

#6 Transportation Logistics

Confirm or arrange transportation for yourself, your partner, and the wedding party on the wedding day. Confirm details, pick-up times, and drop-off locations to ensure a smooth and timely arrival at the venue.

#7 Prepare Wedding Day Emergency Kit

Assemble a kit with essential items for any last-minute emergencies.  Include items like safety pins, a sewing kit, boob tape, nipple covers, tampons, stain remover, band-aids, breath mints, Advil, and any personal medications you might need.

Tip: Be sure to move this from the getting-ready location to the ceremony.

#8 Finalize Vows & Speeches

If you plan to write your own vows or deliver speeches, now is the time to finalize them. Practice speaking them aloud to feel more comfortable and confident on the day. Be sure to write them on a physical piece of paper to avoid using your phone during the ceremony and reception.

#9 Take Time For Self-Care

In the midst of all the preparations, remember to take care of yourself. Prioritize rest, relaxation, and self-care activities to reduce stress and maintain your well-being.
